Draft for legal review. This text is a placeholder and is not yet a binding agreement. It will be reviewed by a lawyer before Fleet Tracker is offered commercially.

Who we are

Fleet Tracker is a fleet GPS tracking service operated by Friction Labs LLC ("we", "us"), [Registered address to be added]. This policy explains what personal information we process when you visit our website or use the service, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email address, company name, password hash, and two-step verification settings.
  • Vehicle and location data: positions, speed, heading, ignition state and other readings sent by trackers that our customers install in their vehicles.
  • Usage and device information: sign-in times, IP address, browser type and security events.
  • Information you send us, such as a demo request (name, email, company, fleet size and message).

How we use it

  • To provide the service: show vehicles on the map, send alerts and build reports.
  • To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
  • To answer your requests and, where you agree, tell you about the product.
  • To meet legal obligations.

Location data and drivers

Our customers decide which vehicles are tracked and are responsible for informing drivers and obtaining any consent required by law. We process location data on our customers' behalf and only as they instruct.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the service (such as hosting, email delivery, mapping and cellular data providers), when a customer shares a vehicle link, or when the law requires it.

Retention

Location history is kept for the period included in the customer's plan and then deleted. Account data is kept while the account is active and for a limited time afterwards.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to some processing. Write to privacy@thefrictionlabs.com.

Security

Each company's data is kept separate at the database level, passwords are stored as strong one-way hashes, and two-step verification is available on every account.

Changes

We will post any changes here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced by email.
